Dr. Athans is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist working with children, adolescents and families.

He received two Master's Degrees from Columbia University, New York, and his Doctoral Degree from Michigan State University.

Dr. Athans completed his internship requirements at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago. He completed two post-doctoral degrees, first at University of Chicago's Sonia Shankman School, then at Northwestern University's College of Marital and Family Studies, where he has been a supervisor.
